Electricity Generation Company (Egenco) has announced that maintenance works at hydropower station, Nkula B, are al,ost complete as the station will be up and running this week.

Confirming the above to The Daily Times newspaper, Egenco Assistant Public Relations Officer Mervin Mchenga assured that  the works are “over 90% complete”.

The shutdown of the power station last month, saw 100 megawatts (MW) being taken off the grid, leaving the country in blackouts as Escom implemented load shedding programs, which irked consumers.
