Hillview International School is a co-educational, single class day school situated in Limbe, BCA Hill, Malawi, offering the British National Curriculum to about 200 students between the ages of 3 and 14 years. We have Reception to Year 6 in our Primary and our High School is 3 years old (Years 7, 8 + 9) and growing to an IGCSE school, writing our first IGCSE in May 2020.

Hillview International High School is a vibrant, family-oriented community school that aims to provide our pupils with a solid foundation for lifelong learning, encouraging leadership, creativity and enquiring minds.

As an internationally recognized Cambridge school we encourage and promote high standards and continuously strive for academic excellence.

We are the only school in Malawi that offers the Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS). JASS develops young people by promoting regular physical activity, exploring personal interests and working for the good of the community and the environment. It also encourages students to complete an outdoor activity or challenge. Our students get the opportunity to volunteer and support those in need. Through our JASS program and our association with the Rotary International Interact scheme our students are involved in a number of community -based projects benefitting the less-privileged members of Malawian society. They also have opportunities to plan and host their own events such as movie nights, pool parties and games days, enhancing their leadership, organizational and team skills.

We also strive to develop enquiring minds and encourage creativity by offering programs in Art, Drama, Music, Computer Science and Design and Technology. These courses include graphic design, architectural drawing and 3D modeling and manufacturing, made possible through our partnership with The Polytechnic.

Hillview offers a holistic education and aims to promote all aspects of our students’ development; academic, physical and spiritual. Our co-curricular program offers. a diverse range of sports including scuba diving, swimming, football, cricket, golf, squash, table tennis, netball, hockey, tennis, athletics, cross country, rugby and football. These team and individual sports promote physical wellness, confidence, self-esteem, leadership and teamwork, all important building blocks for the present, as well as life beyond school.

We take great pride in our pastoral care system and our healthy staff/student ratio enables us to develop and maximize the development and potential of each of our students We are confident that our school provides our students with an excellent all-round education and that they will be able to step confidently into the world beyond school. We strive to build competent, independent, confident and compassionate citizens with a strong sense of social responsibility.

We are also Malawi’s first fully solar-powered international school and the school was built mainly using locally sourced and reclaimed materials. These are principles we practice and our students are sensitive to the importance of sustainability, renewable energy sources and preservation of our environment.
