The U.S. Mission in Malawi is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Biomedical HIV Prevention Specialist.
The work schedule for this position is Full Time: 40 hours a week.
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

The incumbent of this position is a public health advisor on biomedical HIV and disease prevention for CDC Malawi. Position is responsible for the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of a broad range of agency- funded HIV prevention program activities and studies required to implement the
President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) in Malawi, as well as other health program activities under the US Global Health Initiative. Job holder is a USG HIV/AIDS prevention public health advisor to the Malawian Ministry of Health, implementing partners, including those funded by the Malawian
government or the Global Fund, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the implementation of prevention program activities and studies. The incumbent represents CDC on HIV prevention issues at technical, policy and strategic planning meetings, including meetings with collaborators and donor agencies.
Job holder serves as the activity manager for health and HIV prevention grants, contracts and cooperative agreements and coordinates funding, reporting, and administration with the extramural team to assure projects are conducted and USG funds are appropriately utilized.
Qualifications and Evaluations:
• Masters (MPH, MSHP) degree or host country equivalent in public health, nursing, health policy, public administration, or social sciences is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of mid-to-senior level public health experience in developing, implementing & evaluating HIV/AIDS prevention or other public health programs that involve coordination with an international agency or implementing partner is required.
