Pacific limited had set out to supply the deficit of fish in Malawi. Due to decrease in harvest from the lake in recent years.

Chambo fisheries is a farm that involves the whole process of aquaculture farming from pairing the brood fish to incubation, nursery, production, purging the fish aswell as producing the feed and rotifers for the fish.

Chambo fisheries has world class equipment and systems in places to ensure that Malawi’s culture is given back to its people.

Malawi is a fish eating nation and that should not stop. Due to less supply of fish many Malawians have replaced their healthy diets with less sources of protein such as chicken. This is the reason why health related problems have hit sky-high records as Malawians are not eating high sources of protein such as fish.

Chambo fisheries has been declared as the worlds largest biofloc tank farm in the world and largest tank farm in Africa. Records given by institute of aquaculture and many other aquaculture groups and organisations show this.

Aquaculture Fish farming acroos the world has been a challenge for many organisations and many farms across Lebanon and Europe have failed and shut down.

Chambo fisheries has began harvesting and feedback from its consumer’s has been great.

The fish taste is great due to pacific limited maintaining the right water quality at all times in its tanks.

The methodology meets the most stringent organic aquaculture standards being extremely environmentally sustainable due to the fact the no effluents or by-products are discharged into the surrounding environment.

Well proven tank based culture technology in use offers excellent control over husbandry and production cycles enabling the year-round production of 250-300g Tilapia of A-grade quality.

Chambo fisheries is a successful answer to the complains of no fish by Malawians. Now chambo fisheries with plans to supply the full nation with fresh fish are supplying the southern region.

With the supply of fresh fish from chambo fishieries Malawians can go back to eting their culture as their forefathers would.

Fish is a low-fat high quality protein. Fish is filled with omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins such as D and B2 (riboflavin). Fish is rich in calcium and phosphorus and a great source of minerals, such as iron, zinc, iodine, magnesium, and potassium. The American Heart Association recommends eating fish at least two times per week as part of a healthy diet. Fish is packed with protein, vitamins, and nutrients that can lower blood pressure and help reduce the risk of a heart attack or stroke.

As Malawians will now have supply of organic environmentally farmed fish the number of health related cases will decrease. As with other substitues such as chicken many chemically substances are added and thus health problems occur.

Chambo fisheries has initiated a entrupreniship program relating to its product. 105 local Malawians who were unemployed or on the streets begging have now become businessmen/women.  These entrprenuers are now roaming many areas of Blantyre with cooler boxes selling fish and earning a steady income for their families and homes.

Chambo fishiers encourages the nation to support the hard work of these entrepreneurs’s and buy fish from them when seen on the streets.

Chambo fisheries has plans to initiate more farms in Lilongwe and chickwawa very soon.

Chambo fisheries has an aim of providing fresh fish to every Malawian. Therefore, till it does not occur every city they have no intentions of export.

We would like to serve our nation with fish then serve the rest of the world.

It is a shame that with half our country being a lake we are still importing fish. Malawi can supply its need of fish through fishermen and local companies, importing products that are available in Malawi such as fish in affecting the economy. Malawi is known for its fish across the globe.

Chambo fisheries would like to thank the Malawi government subsidiary the department of fisheries for its support in providing the nation with fresh fish.
